I'm an LGBTQ+  advocate, diversity consultant, writer, and aging athlete. I live and work to create a more peaceful world through positive change and building compassionate resilient communities.

While I was born in Boston and grew up in a family with nine people, I have quietly called Maine home for nearly sixteen years. After earning degrees from Syracuse University and Savannah College of Art and Design, I was a high school teacher and  coach for nearly 20 years. In that time I became one of Maine's first out transgender public school teachers and one of the first
transgender high school athletic coaches in the country.

Currently, I work as Program Director at EqualityMaine and just ended my tenure as President of the Board of Directors of Maine Transgender Network.  I also run a diversity consultant business, providing my skills as a workshop facilitator, professional trainer, and guest speaker to organizations, schools, and businesses across New England. I also offer personal navigation support for transgender people, their significant allies, and/or caregivers.

LGBTQ+ is short for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and other sexual/gender minorities
